Srinagar: The Kashmir Jurists Bar Association (KJBA) today staged a powerful protest at the premises of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court in Srinagar, condemning the recent brutal killing of innocent tourists in Pahalgam. The protest was led by KJBA President Advocate Altaf Ganderbali and Chief Coordinator Advocate Tajamul Choudhary, with active participation from numerous members of the association.
The legal fraternity expressed deep anguish and outrage over the barbaric act, emphasizing that such cowardly attacks are attempts to destabilize the region and disrupt the atmosphere of peace, development, and prosperity that Kashmiris strive for.
In a firm message directed at Pakistan, the association accused it of perpetuating terrorism in the Kashmir Valley and warned against further involvement in terrorist activities. “Pakistan has always tried to sabotage the peace and happiness of the people of Kashmir,” said Advocate Altaf Ganderbali during the protest. “But we, the people of this peace-loving land, stand united against all such hostile actions. Kashmiris reject violence and choose the path of law, order, and progress.”
KJBA members called upon the international community and the Government of India to take concrete measures to prevent such incidents and ensure the safety of all civilians, especially tourists who contribute to the economic and cultural richness of the region.
The protest concluded with a unanimous resolution condemning terrorism in all its forms and reaffirming the association’s commitment to justice, peace, and the rule of law in Jammu and Kashmir.
