Kulgam Police arrested gang of three extortionists, extorted money recovered

Kulgam, Sep 12, KDC: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday said that it has arrested a gang of three extortionists and extorted money was recovered.

Police in a statement to news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) said that “Kulgam Police received a specific information that during the interviening night of 11/12 September, 03 thieves namely Rahil Ahmad Shah S/O Mohd Afzal Shah, Aadil Ahmad Bhat S/O Ghulam Mohd Bhat and Aamir Ahmad Shiekh S/O Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh all the residents of Churat Qazigund entered forcibly into the residential house of Mst Shahzada W/O Nisar Ahmad Shah R/O Churat and snatched Rs 26000.”

Police said taking cognizance of the incident a case with FIR No. 219/2021 U/S 457, 451, 392, 506, 342 IPC was registered and investigation was taken up.

Accordingly a team led by SHO Qazigund Insp Irshad Reshi under the supervision of SDPO Qazigund Govind Rattan was constituted to nab the culprits and by using all available means investigating team arrested all the three accused and Rs 8000/= extorted money has been recovered from their possession, police said adding that further investigation of the case is going on as more recoveries are expected.
