Kulgam residents protest against shortage of drinking water

Inhabitants of Reshipora Ahmadabad Damhal Hajni pora village of south Kashmir’s kulgam district on Friday staged a protest against Jal Shakti Department for failing to provide adequate water supply.

Miffed over the alleged erratic supply of drinking water the residents hit the streets and demanded that the district administration should provide them with an adequate water supply.

The locals claimed that authorities are making no efforts to address their concerns despite repeated pleas.

“We have been approaching the concerned Jal Shakti employees to redress our issue, but nothing has been done by them in this regard,” she said.

Local residents told that they demanded that there should be an uninterrupted water supply so that the basic needs of people can be fulfilled. He appealed to the Governor administration& district administration to resolve the issue at the earliest.
