Kupwara : The Volleyball Association of Kupwara, in collaboration with the District Administration Kupwara and under the aegis of the Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, successfully organized the First Snow Volleyball Championship 2025. The championship, a landmark event, was proudly sponsored by DDC Rajwar, Mr. Mir Sulaiman, and Executive Engineer, R&B Division Handwara, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah.
This historic championship, an integral part of the Winter Carnival 2025, highlighted Kupwara’s breathtaking winter landscapes while promoting sports as a vehicle for youth engagement and tourism. A total of 12 teams from across the district participated, reflecting the growing popularity and potential of snow volleyball in the region.
A special vote of thanks was extended to Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Miss Ayushi Sudan (IAS), for her unwavering support and guidance in making the event a grand success. Her dedication to fostering sports and youth development in Kupwara was instrumental in the championship’s execution. Gratitude was also expressed to the event’s sponsors, Mr. Mir Sulaiman and Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah, for their generous contributions and encouragement.
The championship concluded with an electrifying final match between Khelo India Centre, Handwara, and Magam Volleyball Club. In a thrilling encounter, Khelo India Centre, Handwara, emerged victorious with a 2:0 win, securing set scores of 15:12 and 15:11. The match showcased the exceptional skill and spirit of the players, captivating the audience with their performance.
