The meeting was chaired by SSP Kupwara, Shri Ghulam Jeelani, who was accompanied by ASP Kupwara, Shri Javaid Ahmad, and Inspector Reyaz Ahmad among other officers. A large number of local residents, community elders, and youth participated in the interactive session.

During the meeting, the locals put forth various day-to-day issues and grievances, ranging from infrastructure challenges to security-related concerns. The SSP gave a patient hearing to all issues raised. Several matters were resolved on the spot, while others were duly noted for redressal through appropriate departmental or civil authorities.

The SSP also briefed the gathering on critical concerns like drug abuse, cross-border terrorism, and narco-terrorism, which continue to pose challenges in border areas. He emphasized the role of community vigilance and cooperation in combating these threats and maintaining peace and stability.

Appreciating the efforts of Kupwara Police, the locals expressed their gratitude to SSP Kupwara and his team for organizing such a vital meeting in this highly remote and strategically important region, underscoring the department’s commitment to inclusive and accessible policing.

The residents assured full support and cooperation to the police in all future endeavors, reiterating their resolve to work jointly towards a peaceful and progressive Machil.
