Kupwara Police Organizes Thana Diwas

Kupwara : Continuing its efforts to enhance public engagement and address community concerns Kupwara Police conducted ‘Thana Diwas’ at Police Station Kupwara, Police Post Teetwal and Police Post Machail.

At Police Station Kupwara, the Programme was held under the Chairmanship of Mohd Rafee Rather JKPS, DySP HQRS Kupwara. The Program was also attended by Ms. Goldy Sharma, DySP(P) and SHO Yasir Rashid PS Kupwara. The event saw an active participation from residents under the jurisdiction of PS Kupwara including civil society members, Shopkeepers, Retired Officers and local youth. Community members were assured that their concerns would be taken up with the relevant departments for necessary action.

At Police Post Teetwal, Thana diwas was held under the supervision of Gh Mohi-din, SHO Karnah. There was an interaction with locals who raised issues related to policing, infrastructure development and public amenities. Concerns other civic issues were also discussed and assurances were given for appropriate coordination with administrative authorities. The importance of community participation with accountability and transparency in maintaining law and order was also emphasized.

At Police Post Machail, SI Abdul Majid interacted with the locals, where they shared grievances regarding day-to-day policing matters and sought better engagement for resolving public concerns. Police officers encouraged citizens to cooperate in maintaining peace and security while ensuring that their feedback is taken into account in policing strategies.

All the participants were encouraged to seek police assistance without any hesitation. Kupwara Police reiterated its dedication to strengthening community-oriented policing, addressing public grievances effectively and ensuring legal awareness among all sections of society.
