Kupwara Police solves 03 theft cases, 06 arrested, stolen property worth lakhs recovered.

In a major success against burglars , Kupwara Police here has arrested six burglars from different areas of Kupwara district and recovered the stolen property including Jewellery and utensils worth lakhs of rupees from the arrested persons. SSP Kupwara told that 03 separate complaints from 03 local people were received by Police Station Kupwara alleging that some unknown burglars have stolen valuables from their houses and shops located at Heeri, Branwari and main town Kupwara.
Accordingly, 03 separate cases vide FIRs No. 23/2022, 33/2022 and 34/2022 under sections 457,380 IPC were registered in Police Station Kupwara and investigation in each case taken up.
During the course of investigation, 06 suspects identified as
Danish Manzoor @ Chota Danish son of Mohd Manzoor
resident of Tikker, Ali Mohd Peer son of Mohd Asdulla Peer resident of Heeri,
Azad Ahmad Wani son of Gulam Ahmed Wani resident of Doonivari, Lolab, Ab Rasheed Malik son of Ghulam Nabi Malik resident of Malik Mohalla Kupwara, Irshad Ahmad Chopan son of Sonaullah Chopan resident of Tikker, and Mudasir Ahmad Lone @ Mud Chour son of Ab Majeed Lone a resident of Mughalpora, Kupwara were arrested and were put to sustained questioning by the investigating officers. During questioning, they confessed to their involvement in theft cases and upon their disclosure stolen items belonging to the victims were recovered and also identified by the complainants. The stolen items include jewellery worth ₹ 2.0 Lacs, Copper utensils worth ₹1.5 lac, 01 Laptop valuing ₹ 50,000 , Induction Heater and some Cigarette Packets. Police team led by SHO Kupwara Rafiq Lone under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Rashid Younis and Addl SP Kupwara Pardeep Singh carried the investigations and arrests in these cases.

The investigation of all these cases is still going on and arrest of some more associates of the arrested accused persons is also expected in the coming days.
SSP Kupwara also assures the general public that Police is resolved to act tough against the individuals involved in criminal activities and also seeks support to identify such elements who are hell bent on creating an atmosphere of fear and insecurity.
