He met top officials over the dinner and lauded their efforts for successful conduct of G 20 meeting.

Chief Secretary Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, Financial Commissioner Revenue Shaleen Kabra, Principal Secretary to Governor Dr Mandeep K Bhandari, Additional DGP Jammu Mukesh Singh, Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, all three DIGs of the Zone including Shakti Pathak, Suleman Choudhary and Dr Haseeb Mughal and all 10 Deputy Commissioners and SSPs of the Jammu region attended the meeting held at Raj Bhawan Jammu over the dinner.

The occasion was also used by the Lieutenant Governor to take feedback on preparations by civil and police administration on upcoming annual pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji which will start on July 1 and last 62 days till August 31.

He is reported to have called upon the administration to brace up in advance for ensuring smooth and peaceful yatra.

Border security also came up for discussion, the officials said. There has been peace in Jammu after twin incidents in which 10 Army brave-hearts sacrificed their lives in Poonch and Rajouri districts in the months of April and May.

Though two terrorists have been killed in Rajouri, the troops continued hunt for the militants involved in attacks on the Army.

The Lieutenant Governor is also understood to have discussed developmental works with civil administration including the Deputy Commissioners and stressed that projects shouldn’t miss the timelines.

“Missing of deadlines leads to cost escalation of projects,” the officials said.

A large number of developmental works in both Central and State sectors are going on in Jammu and Kashmir and majority of them are sticking to deadlines, they said.

An official handout issued by the Raj Bhawan said Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha interacted with senior officials of police and civil administration of Jammu division at Raj Bhawan here.

“The Lieutenant Governor commended the contribution by the officials in ensuring success of G 20 meeting and appreciated good work done by the team,” the handout said.

It may be mentioned here that Tourism Working Group (TWG) meeting of G20 was held in Srinagar from May 22-24 and it passed off peacefully with large number of international delegates taking part.

The Central Government had also appreciated the Jammu and Kashmir Government for peaceful conduct of G20 meeting.
