The event focused on educating the public about the ill effects of substance abuse, ways to prevent it, and the importance of building resilient communities. It included a series of awareness camps, workshops, and interactive sessions with experts in the field.
Officers from Revenue, Police, Rural Development, Health, Education, ICDS; local leaders and members of civil society led the awareness camps held in all panchayats of the district.
The campaign included distributing informational pamphlets, posters, organizing community dialogues and presenting videos to ensure that everyone understood the grave consequences of drug addiction on individuals and society.
The initiative also saw the active involvement of school children, teachers and local volunteers, who shared personal stories of overcoming drug addiction and highlighted the significance of social support in battling this issue.
The Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan is part of a UT-wide effort by the Jammu and Kashmir Government to tackle the growing menace of drug abuse and build a healthier, drug-free environment for future generations.
