In a historic and emotional revival, Mela Khir Bawani was celebrated in Chandigam Lolab after a 35-year hiatus. The J&K Youth Welfare Forum (Ray of Hope) played a pivotal role, welcoming nearly a hundred Kashmiri Pandits to Chandigam Lolab. This initiative, started by JKYWF three years ago, aims to foster unity by engaging Kashmiri Pandits and Muslims from various parts of Kashmir.

The event, held at the main ground of Chandigam, received overwhelming support from all stakeholders in Kashmir, bridging the gap between the Muslim and Pandit communities. The event was started by Ab Majeed and concluded by Mr Aijaz Bhat during the event heartfelt interactions, members of both communities shared their stories, shedding tears and embracing one another, highlighting the deep emotional bond that persists despite years of separation. Chini Lal Ji, TM Koul ji, Krishan Ji Pandita and others spoke out of their heart and inspiration Muslims Youth and Elders.

The gathering saw the participation of approximately 100 Pandits and over a hundred Muslims, including both males and females. JKYWF extended their heartfelt thanks to the District Administration, emphasizing that such a significant reunion would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of District Commissioner Ayushi Sudan Ji. They also expressed gratitude to Kupwara Police for their support and cooperation. Lolab adminstration lead by Telsildar Sogam Mr Saqib Murtaza, SDPO Sogam Dr Rayees Ahmad, BMO Sogam Mr Fareed Ahmad, Ex Sarparch Chandigam Gh Hassan Dar, all the locals of Chandigam Sogam and members and volunteers of JKYWF.

This poignant event underscored the enduring spirit of unity and compassion between the communities, with people embracing and crying like children as they listened to each other’s experiences.
