Militant Slain in Tral Gunfight Identified

A militant slain in an ongoing gunfight in Tilwani Mohalla Wagad in Tral has been identified as Sham Sofi, a resident of Satura Tral in Pulwama district.

Sofi (45) active since 2019 after rejoining JeM militant outfit, was killed after initial exchange of gunfire with the security forces this afternoon, sources told GNS.
Earlier Reports reaching GNS said that a joint team of Police, army’s 42RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Tral.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight. (GNS)
