GANDERBAL : To raise awareness about the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012, and child rights, the Mission Vatsalya, Ganderbal today organized an awareness program at KGBV School Gutlibabag.

The session witnessed the participation of various stakeholders, including the Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Ganderbal, officials from the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) and representatives from Child Helpline (1098) Ganderbal, local residents besides students of the institution.
The awareness program focused on educating the participants about the provisions and objectives of the Juvenile Justice Act, which emphasizes care, protection, and rehabilitation for children in need, as well as the POCSO Act, which addresses the protection of children from sexual offences.
Additionally, the program highlighted the fundamental rights of children and the resources available for their safety and welfare.
Speaking on the occasion, officials from the District Child Protection Unit emphasized the collective responsibility of the community in safeguarding children and creating a safe and supportive environment for their growth and development.
The representatives from Child Helpline (1098) also briefed attendees about the helpline’s services and its role in addressing child-related issues.
