MLA Gurez reviews Developmental Scenario of Gurez Subdivision

BANDIPORA : Member of the Legislative Assembly for Gurez Constituency of Bandipora District, Nazir Ahmad Khan, on Monday chaired a meeting at Dak Bungalow, Gurez, to review the developmental scenario of Gurez Subdivision.
During the meeting, MLA took a detailed, department-wise review of the developmental and infrastructural projects of Gurez subdivision.
The concerned officers from different departments briefed the chair regarding the works taken up, along with their physical and financial status.
It was given out that, for infrastructure improvement across various sectors for 2024-25, with a total allocation of Rs. 3770.51 lacs, under District/ UT CAPEX, Rs. 2368.67 lacs have been released, and an expenditure of Rs. 1407.96 lacs has been made so far.
Regarding the physical progress of works under different sectors, the chair was informed that a total of 174 works under District/UT CAPEX were taken up, out of which 101 works have been completed.
On the occasion, it was revealed that under District CAPEX, NABARD, JJM, UT CAPEX, and BADP, 48 PHE works are ongoing with an approved outlay amount of 1903 lacs.
The meeting was informed that under ADF for Gurez Block, 32 PRI works, 04 BDC works, and 03 DDC works have been proposed, and for Block Tulail, 47 PRI works, 04 BDC works, and 08 DDC works have been proposed, while for Block Bagtore, 19 PRI and 06 BDC works have been proposed.
Ex. Engineer PMGSY informed that 10 roads were taken up under PMGSY for macadamization, and all 10 roads have been successfully macadamized; additionally, 10 roads will be taken up in PMGSY Phase IV.
The MLA also took a detailed review of the Health Sector, Education, PDD, R&B, RDD, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Agriculture, Horticulture, and other departments, and also reviewed measures in place for winter stocking, snow clearance operations, and other public welfare issues.
He also took a detailed review of works under MGNREGA and the status of PMAY.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Nazir Ahmad Khan emphasized coordination among public representatives and government officials for the betterment of public welfare.
He stressed the importance of enhancing the public service delivery mechanism, considering that Gurez is a far-flung area requiring special attention.
He emphasized the redressal of genuine public issues on priority and asked the revenue officers to ensure services under PSGA within the given timeframe.
He urged the concerned departments to take action against the contractors and agencies who fail to complete the works within the stipulated time frame.
While reviewing the Power Development Department, the MLA asked the concerned to keep a buffer stock of at least 10 transformers available for immediate replacement during winters.
The MLA directed the Mechanical Department to ensure fuel storage in Tulail as well, for the operation of snow clearance machinery.
He asked the SDM Gurez to ensure the shifting of six Offices including SDM Office, Tehsil Office, Block Office, Social Welfare, Agriculture and Horticulture to the new Mini Secretariat Building within a week’s time to ensure the availability of public dealing offices under one roof for the convenience of the general public and emphasized to make public dealing easy in Government Offices.
Khan asked the district administration to start helicopter service for Purana Tulail and Gujraan during winters and asked the concerned to ensure a ticket system for Helicopter service in order to provide services to the public without bias.
While reviewing the Health Sector, the MLA emphasized theatre upgradation, functioning of the blood storage unit, and took stock of the availability of medicines and staff in CHC Gurez and directed for starting OPD service at Dawar.
Among others, the meeting was attended by ADDC Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Bhatt, DDC Gurez Tasleema Begum, SDM Gurez Mukhtar Ahmad, District and sectoral officers of various departments, and other concerned officials.
