BANDIPORA : The Member of Legislative Assembly for Sonawari Constituency, Hilal Akbar Lone today chaired a maiden meeting at Dak Bungalow Sumbal to review the developmental scenario of Sonawari Constituency of Bandipora District.
During the meeting, MLA took detailed sector wise review of various developmental schemes.
The concerned officers from different departments briefed the chair regarding the ongoing and new developmental works taken up in Sumbal sub division.
The chair was informed that out of 10 schemes of R&B under NABARD two schemes have been completed while work is going on for the rest of the schemes besides one scheme is ongoing under PMRP.
Ex. Engineer R&B division Sumbal also briefed the chair regarding the work wise progress achieved under different schemes.
It was revealed that under PMGSY three schemes have been completed with an expenditure of 892.45 lakhs.
Regarding JJM, the meeting was informed that out of 152 tendered works, 78 have been completed covering 06 Water supply Schemes.
During the meeting, threadbare discussions were also held regarding the schemes and services under RDD, Health, Education, PDD, Agriculture, Horticulture, ICDS, Social Welfare, Urban Local Bodies and skill Development besides other departments.
Addressing the participants, Lone stressed the concerned officers and executing agencies to expedite the work on both ongoing and new works and ensure their completion within a given time frame.
He sought cooperation of departments in strengthening the quality public service delivery and said that no lackadaisical approach in developmental activities will be tolerated.
While reviewing the activities of I&FC, MLA asked the concerned to take appropriate measures and ensure that no agricultural land remains un-irrigated.
He urged the officers of different departments to generate awareness among people regarding different welfare schemes and ensure that only eligible beneficiaries take benefit from different schemes.
Lone emphasized transparency and accountability in project execution and urged officers to develop a robust monitoring system to track progress, identify challenges promptly, and address them effectively to ensure that developmental goals and genuine public needs are adequately addressed.
Among others the meeting was attended by SDM Sumbal Murtaza Ahmad Sheikh, Tehsildars of Sumbal Subdivision, BDOs, Executive Engineers, Sub Divisional Level Officers of Various departments and other concerned.
