Kupwara Police’s dedication has earned them praise and appreciation from the public who hailed JKP for its “commitment to serving the community”.

A top police officer informed the news agency that the stolen and lost mobile phones were recovered from various parts of the Union Territory, and even from as far away as Haryana.

“14 recovered mobile phones were handed over to their rightful owners at the District Police Office (DPO) Kupwara,” the official said, adding that all pending complaints of this nature were resolved and the phones were returned to their owners.

The official urged everyone to consider the police as friends and allies, saying their mission is to serve the community and resolve issues as swiftly and effectively as possible.

The owners who spoke to KNO expressed immense gratitude and relief at the return of their valuable devices.

Overwhelmed with joy, Waseem Khwaja, a resident of Marhama Trehgam, received his stolen device after three years. “I can’t express my feelings. This phone wasn’t just a gadget, but had vital information and countless memories,” he said.

Similarly, Sameer Ahmed Hajam, a businessman, said he had lost his phone in August and was surprised to receive a call from the police to collect it after 10 months. “It was a totally unexpected situation for me,” he said.

Hajam, a resident of Arampora Drugmulla, Kupwara, said he faced several challenges after losing his phone, which contained important information and documents. “The efforts of Kupwara Police are worth hailing and the services they are providing are commendable. I’m extremely grateful to the police for their diligent efforts in recovering my phone,” Hajam said.

The community at large has hailed the Kupwara Police, led by Superintendent of Police, Shobhit Saxena (IPS), for their exemplary efforts—(KNO)
