MP-elect Er. Rashid Applies for Regular Bail, Hearing On Aug 28: Report

Srinagar: Member Parliament from Baramulla Lok Sabha seat Er. Rashid has applied for regular bail before Delhi’s Patiala House Court, said a media report.

The Court has issued a notice to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to seek their stance by or before August 28, 2024.

In the meantime anticipation for release of party supremo on parole is growing high among the Awami Itehad Party cadres as they expect to see the firebrand leader leading the party’s campaign for the scheduled Assembly elections.

Er. Rashid, who emerged victorious on Baramulla Lok Sabha seat defeating former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, is currently lodged in Tihar jail in connection with an alleged militant funding case.
