Muharram-ul-Haram: DC Bandipora inspects facilities at Markazi Imambaras across Sumbal sub-division

BANDIPORA : In view of the forthcoming holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri today conducted an extensive tour of various Imambaras across the Sumbal sub-division to assess the arrangements being put in place for the smooth observance of the religious period.
Accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police Bandipora, Harmeet Singh Mehta; Chief Planning Officer Bandipora, Tehsildar Sumbal, SDPO Sumbal and other officers, DC visited prominent locations of the sub-division and took firsthand appraisal of facilities being made available for the conduct of mourning processions and congregational gatherings.
DC interacted with intizamia committees of the respective imambaras and enquired about their requirements and concerns. He directed officers of the concerned departments to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply, especially during the peak hours of mourning gatherings.
On the occasion, DC directed Municipal Committees to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in and around all major congregation points. Emphasis was laid on the repair of approach roads, lanes, and by-lanes leading to the religious sites to ensure smooth access for devotees.
DC directed the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department to ensure adequate ration supply during the holy days. He also asked the concerned departments to maintain coordination with the local religious bodies to address any emerging needs promptly.
Furthermore, DC directed concerned officers to personally visit the imambaras falling within their jurisdiction to monitor arrangements on-ground and ensure timely redressal of public issues.
DC reiterated the administration’s commitment to ensuring peaceful and well-facilitated Muharram observance across the district and sought active cooperation from all stakeholders.
