Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan rallies held across Kupwara district 8 consecutive days in a row

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray, various activities including theme based sports events, pledges, rallies were held in different places including educational institutions and medical blocks across the district to observe 8th Day of month long ‘Nasha Mukt J&K Abiyan’.

Youth Services & Sports department Kupwara today organized theme sports activities under the banner of ‘Nasha Mukt J&K Abiyan’ at Galizoo stadium Kupwara. A friendly cricket match was also played between teaching faculty and non teaching staff at Government Degree College Handwara in which banners were put on display, highlighting the adverse effects of drug abuse.

In Education Zone Kralpora, students took to streets, holding placards and shouting anti drug abuse slogans ‘Nasha Abi Nehien – Kabi Nehin’ to sensitize the people about the need for eradication of drug menace from the society.

A student rally under ‘Nasha Mukt J&K’ Abiyan was conducted by Government Middle School Gugloosa in which students were holding the placards reading ‘Use of Tobacco invites Cancer’, ‘Cancer ruin homes and future’.

At Medical Block Vilgam, an awareness programme regarding ill effects of substance abuse was organized by Health Department in which functionaries from Health, ICDS and students participated. Similarly, anti drug abuse rally was also taken at Awoora Kupwara.

Meanwhile, Nasha Mukt pledges were also taken in various educational institutions including Colleges, Higher Secondary and Middle schools across the Kupwara district to uphold the promise for eradication of the drug abuse from the society and build a healthy nation.
