National Lok Adalat held in Kupwara.

4541 cases settled amicably.

KUPWARA, DECEMBER 11: A National Lok Adalat was today organised across District Kupwara in which 5481 cases of different natures were put up, out of which 4541 cases were amicably settled, realising an amount of about Rs.1.60 crore.

A total of seven benches were constituted by chairman DLSA, Mr. Tasleem Arief, (Principal District & Sessions Judge Kupwara) across the district including Sessions court Kupwara, Sub Judge/ Secretary DLSA Kupwara, Sub Judge Court Kupwara, Munsif Court Kupwara, CJM Handwara, Munsif Handwara, Sub Judge Court Trehgam, Munsif Court Sogam, Kralpora and Tangdar.

The Lok Adalats were held under the instructions of National Legal Services Authority of India and supervision of JK legal Services Authority. 

The different cases which were taken up in the Lok Adalat include civil, matrimonial, maintenance, domestic violence, recovery of money or loan, Motor accident compensation, revenue, criminal compoundable and cheque bounce cases etc across court complexes of District Kupwara.
