NCORD meeting discusses efforts in combating drug abuse in Ganderbal

GANDERBAL : The district-level NARCO Coordination Committee (NCORD) meeting was held today at the mini-secretariat in Ganderbal to review the efforts of enforcement agencies in combating drug abuse and narcotic trafficking.

The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Gulzar Ahmad along with SSP Ganderbal, Sandeep Gupta.

the meeting included detailed discussions on previous directives to address the drug problem in the district.

Concerned departments and agencies shared the steps they have taken to make Ganderbal drug-free, including addressing drug addiction and identifying hotspots of drug use.

The ADC highlighted the role of promoting success stories regarding the rehabilitation of drug abusers.

He also emphasized the start of a dedicated segment regarding Nasha Mukt Abhiyan during the Block Diwas program and directed the officials present in the meeting to make efforts to make the entire Ganderbal district Nasha Mukt during this year.

The SSP emphasized the need for banners and sign boards in designated Nasha Mukt Panchayats.

He also emphasized upon addressing the root causes of the drug abuse for effective fight against this menace.

All stakeholder departments were tasked with monitoring new drug addiction cases in Nasha Mukt Panchayats and submitting action reports.

SSP Ganderbal emphasized the sustainability of the Nasha Mukt status for announced panchayats and the involvement of Civil Society members  in ongoing activities.

The meeting also reviewed the status of CCTV camera installation and computerized billing in retail medical shops.

Among others the meeting was attended by CMO, CEO, Tehsildars, and other officials.
