In a major jolt, considered to be a major setback to the valley’s oldest regional mainstream party National Conference on Sunday after it’s two top senior leaders parted ways from the party announcing the resignation from the basic membership of the party. Pre resignation speculations were rife about Devendar Singh Rana parting ways with National Conference, after which days of looming uncertainty ended on Sunday after Rana along with another former MLA of National Conference S.S. Salathia announced in a brief that they are resigning from the basic membership of National Conference, after which both of them did not divulge much details about the further plans, however told the media that they are leaving for New Delhi. With the awakening on Monday morning both the leaders formally joined BJP, putting an end to the speculations of floating a new front as in June this year Rana Earlier in the year in the month of June, had released a document titled “Jammu Declaration” seeking political empowerment of Jammu. The NC leadership hasn’t spoken about it other than confirming the resignation of the two leaders on Sunday and said no further action or comment is deemed necessary. While the reaction over the resignation of two top former NC leaders is must to be known, however the NC party leadership has for now decided to be tightlipped over it. Filling the position, National Conference immediately on Sunday announced senior party leader Advocate Rattan Lal Gupta as it’s new Provincial President for Jammu.
