Nehru Yuva Kendra Budgam Organizes Cluster-Level Sports Meet, Engaging Hundreds of Youth in Saibugh Budgam

Budgam: The Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Budgam, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (Government of India), successfully organized Saibugh Budgam.

the Cluster-Level Sports Meet 2024-2025 in various blocks of Saibugh , Budgam, on Thursday. Hundreds of young athletes participated enthusiastically in the event, competing in a range of disciplines including Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Running, Tug of War, and a 100-meter race. Teams from different blocks showcased impressive talent and sportsmanship, creating a vibrant atmosphere that celebrated athleticism, teamwork,

determination.

The event attracted several prominent figures, includ-ing social activist and CEO of Drug Free Kashmir Aquib Ahmad. NYK repre sentative Akhter Bano, Faisal Ahmad , and Danish , amongst other distinguished guests. The par ticipants demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and competitive spirit, contributing to the overall success of the meet.

Speaking to the media, NYK Budgam representa-tive Shahi Hamdan Youth Club emphasized the importance of the event, noting that sports competitions were held at mul tiple locations under the NYK Budgam banner. He affirmed the organization’s commitment to youth development and promised more such programs in the future to encourage sports participation and promote healthy lifestyles.

Chief guest DEO Saibugh Budgam And CEO of Drug Free Kashmir Aquib Ahmad praised NYK Budgam initiative, highlighting the important role of sports in shaping young people. “These games will help keep our children engaged in positive and healthy activities, steering them away from drug abuse. Sports play a crucial role in both physical and mental well-being “he stated. He also expressed his gratitude to NYK Budgam for their ongoing efforts to promote sports in the region and expressed hope for more such events in the future. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from NYK Budgam, acknowledging the significance of such programs as guiding forces for future genera-tions.The successful sports meet serves as a powerful example of the positive impact of youth engagement and collaboration within local.communities.
