The new Vande Bharat Sleeper train will cover over 800 km in less than 13 hours. Departing from New Delhi at 7 PM and arriving in Srinagar by 8 AM, the overnight service saves passengers precious daytime hours.
Whether you’re a business traveller or tourist, this schedule ensures you’ll arrive refreshed and ready for the day ahead. The convenience of travelling overnight allows passengers to make the most of their time, a major advantage over traditional, slower train services.
With limited stops at major stations like Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jammu Tawi, and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, the Vande Bharat Sleeper minimises delays while ensuring connectivity with significant cities.

The train will run along the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL), a critical route designed to enhance rail connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir. This new route not only reduces travel time but also ensures a smoother and faster journey for passengers.
The Vande Bharat Sleeper offers flexible options to cater to various budgets. Passengers can choose between AC 3 Tier (INR 2,000), AC 2 Tier (INR 2,500), and AC First Class (INR 3,000).

Each class is equipped with upgraded sleeper facilities, ensuring comfort throughout the night. These varied options make the train an attractive choice for a broad range of travellers, from budget-conscious passengers to those seeking premium comfort.
The New Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Sleeper train is a product of India’s dedication to advancing its railway infrastructure. Manufactured by Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML), the train was unveiled by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in September 2024.

It embodies the modernisation efforts of Indian Railways, aiming to compete with global standards in speed, efficiency, and comfort.

Designed with passenger comfort in mind, the train will feature modern amenities, including upgraded berths, improved lighting, and climate-controlled environments.

These enhancements make long-distance, overnight travel much more pleasant, particularly on a scenic route like New Delhi to Srinagar. The comfort-focused design also ensures that travellers can relax and sleep well, making the journey more enjoyable.
The introduction of the Vande Bharat Sleeper is expected to have a significant impact on tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. The train’s faster, more comfortable service will attract more visitors, making the region more accessible and boosting its tourism economy.

Whether for a quick business trip or a leisurely visit to Srinagar, this new service opens up opportunities for more frequent travel to one of India’s most beautiful regions.
Though initially running between New Delhi and Srinagar, plans are already underway to extend the service to Baramulla. This expansion will further enhance connectivity across northern Jammu and Kashmir, making travel easier for both locals and tourists.

This future extension is a positive step toward expanding rail networks in the region and improving access to more remote areas.

The New Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Sleeper train marks a major milestone in Indian railway history. Combining speed, efficiency, and comfort, it is set to revolutionise overnight travel in India, offering a seamless and luxurious travel experience.
As India continues to modernise its railways, this train will be a critical component of the country’s future transportation landscape.

Launching in January 2025, the Vande Bharat Sleeper train promises to elevate the standard of long-distance travel, making it faster, more comfortable, and more accessible for all. Whether for business or leisure, this train is set to be a game-changer for travel between New Delhi and Srinagar.(India today )
