School administrator skills are the abilities and knowledge that school administrators possess to perform their role in an educational institution effectively. Identifying and developing these qualities and including them in your resume can help you advance your career. Relevant skills for a school administrator include interpersonal communication, problem-solving, organisation and knowledge of industry trends.
School Administrators oversee administrative tasks in schools, colleges or other educational institutions. They ensure that the organization runs smoothly and they also manage facilities and staff.School Administrators are capable planners, possess good judgment, and are skilled in handling relations with various people (staff, parents, students, regulatory bodies and the public).
A great School Administrator also has an attention to detail and conflict management skills.During her 24 years of experience in education field as administrator (Principal) in Army Goodwill School Chandigam, a far flung village of district Kupwara, a learning hub, where knowledge meets opportunity, a school namely Army Goodwill Senior Secondary School Chandigam Lolab, now Hamid Chara Army Goodwill School.
Zahida Maqbool Shah has been working there since its inception. During this tenure, she has left no stone unturned to keep this school on heights. My dedication and passion for education have left an indelible mark on the lives of countless children. With a remarkable tenure of 24 years in management and administration, People have been witnessing the transformation of young minds, their joys and their triumph.
This article aims to delve into the experiences, memories and heartfelt moments that have shaped the journey of many & emphasizing the invaluable role those children play in their lives.
For her the children are the most valuable assets. A child’s smile possesses a profound ability to uplift spirits, melting away even the most burdensome of responsibilities. As a principal, witnessing those radiant smiles on a daily basis has served a constant reminder of the impact education can have on the lives of children. I believe that the warmth and happiness reflected in the child’s smile is not only a testament to their personal growth but also a reflection of the supportive environment provided by the school.
As a principal the fundamental principle in managing the School has been to create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued and empowered. Understanding that each child is unique and possesses their own set of talents, she has been striving to provide a range of opportunities for students to explore and develop their abilities, be it academic pursuits, extra co-curricular activities or personal growth initiatives. She has worked tirelessly to ensure that all children have a chance to discover their patience and unlock their potential.
Over the span of 2 decades, the institution has faced numerous challenges and triumphs, each contributing to its personal and professional growth. The joy and pride felt upon witnessing a struggling student transform into a confident achiever or the excitement of watching a school team win a prestigious competition are moments that continue to fuel commitment to their role.
Every achievement of a child serves as testament of combined efforts of students, teachers and school administration.
Whether it is a high score on an examination, a dazzling performance on stage or an act of kindness that touches hearts, firmly believes that celebrating these accomplishments is essential in fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere. Acknowledging and appreciating the efforts and achievements of children has been an integral component of my management approach, boosting their motivation and driving them towards their future success.
Education is not confined to the four walls of a room only or it is not only dependent on school premises only.
It extends to the large community to project and produce my hard work in front of people, she engages herself with the parents’ community & local organization to create a collaborative environment by organizing workshops, seminars and outreach programs. every time encouraged a collective responsibility and shared learning, ensuring that the school remains a vibrant hub of knowledge and growth. Throughout this journey, many valuable lessons have been learnt and have shaped the approach to education and administration.
