Quality Education is a prerequisite for a Quality Life. This condition is mandatory for the individual as well as for the Society. The quality of education is determined by the Curriculum Goals, however, a good Educator and Teacher plays a crucial role in the All-Round personality development of students. The Teacher’s job is not just to make the students aware of a few facts and impart some information mentioned in books . Its duty is to build the personality of the students, develop their colorful abilities, install wisdom of thought in them and make them a dynamic and useful member of the society. To discharge this responsibility, it is necessary for the Educator and a Teacher to build an intellectual and ideological bridge between the students and the social demands in present era so that the students are equipped with the skills that guarantee a life full of struggle in the changing world.
Change is the greatest reality of this era. The changes of this era have also had a strong impact on Education and the Education system. The current era has become a very fast and rapid era in terms of change.Multinational Companies (MNC’s) have turned the whole World into a market. Collectivism has dominated individualism in the field of civilization and culture. Today, the need to strike a balance between individuality and collectivity is greater than ever. The pace of development in knowledge is so intense that without fundamental changes in the methods of acquiring knowledge, it has become a difficult task to establish a connection between knowledge, learner and teacher. It has become necessary to master and bridging every gap between knowledge and practice has become one of the basic duties of a Teacher. In a changing world, the protection of National Heritage and Values has become a new Educational Need. Rather, in view of the changing social demands, the processes of innovation are also to be included in our plan. A democratic country needs the Teacher to be constantly active in order to create a democratic mood and train a democratic lifestyle in Students. Despite the criticism and differences, the establishment of Harmony and Connection is a mandatory duty for the Teacher, even though it is difficult.Indian society is rich in diversity. It is the duty of the teacher to make the students aware about the feature of Tolerance.
Due to the fundamental changes taking place in the field of Education as Per NEP-2020.The responsibilities of the Teacher have also become wider and deeper. As a result of making Elementry Education compulsory, children from the deprived sections of the society have also started reaching Academic Excellence. Not only has the number of students increased, but the first generation of many families has come forward to receive Education. Accommodating these children from different cultural and economic backgrounds with children from other environments is a major task, for which Psychological Teaching methods must be adopted by Teachers.
In view of the continuous increase in the scope of knowledge and the treasure of information, there has been a change in the nature of the responsibility of the Teacher. Now the Teacher is not just a means of providing information, but introducing the students to the new ways of acquiring knowledge so that the students can access the information by themselves, has been included in the duties of the Teacher. Teacher Should know, how a student acquires information without any aids so that the door to acquisition is open to the student throughout his or her life.
The present era requires Teachers who have a research attitude. Who have the courage to question their own goals and methods and try to find their own solutions. Teacher should should play the role of a researcher as well as the role of a Teacher. Rather, a real researcher can be a real Teacher. One has to look for opportunities through which he can develop his practical research skills.
There are four main pillars of education as suggested by the Delaware Committee of UNESCO. Acquisition of knowledge, acquisition of practice, acquisition of communal living and acquisition of appreciation. That is, the meaning and purpose of teaching is not only to preserve the information in the mind, but it is a lifelong process, it can be made effective through different kinds of experiences. To develop the ability to think logically, reasoning, and empirically. Educational experiences should be presented in such a way that students can develop all these abilities. Practical learning refers to the knowledge that some students have been given through educational experiences. To develop the skill of applying it in a proper way in the students. That is, now education is shifting from skill to competence. The Teacher has to see how the knowledge of the subject can attract the students towards collectivity. A Teacher has many roles to play at the same time. He also has a role of a leader. In today’s age, a Teacher is not just a tool for conveying information, because in today’s technological era, all information is available with a simple movement of a finger. The Teacher has to play the role of a friend, guide, philosopher, role model. There is also an important role of the guide. In today’s era, students are facing various problems not only during teaching but also in other areas of life. A Teacher as a leader can not only provide solutions to academic problems but also in personal life if students are suffering from any problem. The Teacher himself analyzes all the situations through the students, draws conclusions and on the basis of this, tells the way to deal with the problems. Today’s Teacher has to be sensitive and has to develop skills in understanding the problems of the students with mind and heart. It is also the responsibility of the Teachers to train the children well and after seeing their academic potential, they should consult with their parents about their future and choose a good Skill from the beginning.
