The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gaining popularity in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), focusing on development, employment, infrastructure, and peace. As a result, more people are supporting the party due to its efforts to improve the region. With new projects, enhanced security, and greater opportunities for youth and women, Kashmir is moving toward a brighter future. Over the past few years, significant changes have taken place in governance and infrastructure. The government has actively engaged with the masses, addressing their concerns and prioritizing real development, which has strengthened public trust in BJP and its leadership.

Previously, a few dominant political parties controlled Kashmir’s politics, but today, people have a greater say in governance. In December 2020, the District Development Council (DDC) elections allowed local residents to elect their own leaders, marking an important step toward strengthening democracy in J&K. Currently, over 280 DDC members are working to address local issues and drive development in villages. Panchayats (village councils) have been empowered to make decisions for their respective areas, corruption has declined, and government funds are now reaching local bodies directly. These changes have helped people feel more connected to the government and more confident in the system.

The BJP-led government is also undertaking major infrastructure and development projects in J&K, improving transportation, electricity, and basic facilities. Better roads, new highways, tunnels, and bridges are being constructed. The Zojila Tunnel, for instance, will facilitate year-round travel between Kashmir and Ladakh, even in winter. Additionally, by March 2024, train services between Jammu and Srinagar will commence, making travel more convenient.

The government is also creating new opportunities for Kashmir’s youth. Various initiatives have been launched to reduce unemployment and help young people build their careers. More than 30,000 government jobs have been provided across different sectors. The Mission Youth Program is supporting young entrepreneurs in launching their own businesses, while skill training centers are equipping them with expertise in IT, tourism, and handicrafts. The Back-to-Village Program has played a key role in addressing employment and infrastructure issues in remote areas. As a result, more young people are finding opportunities for success.

In addition, Kashmiri women are now receiving better education, job opportunities, and leadership roles. Women-centric schemes such as Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao have encouraged more girls to attend school. Over 1.3 million women have benefited from free gas connections under the Ujjwala Yojana. Government initiatives have also helped thousands of women embark on the journey of entrepreneurship and financial independence. Financial aid for widows and single mothers is empowering them to lead self-sufficient lives. These measures have significantly improved the social and economic status of women in Kashmir.

In terms of security, Kashmir has seen a remarkable improvement. Violence has reportedly declined by 30% in the past two years, and people now feel safer traveling and working. As a result, the region is attracting more investments. Schools and colleges are operating without disruptions, and sports tournaments and cultural festivals are being organized for the youth.

The BJP’s growing influence in Kashmir is driving development, employment, and peace in the valley. With improved infrastructure, railway connectivity, educational programs, and enhanced security, the region is progressing toward a more prosperous future. If these initiatives continue, Kashmir has the potential to become one of the most developed regions in India
