Human beings are considered one of the most remarkable creations of Allah. They possess unique qualities such as the ability to think understand and express emotions. The identity of a human being is defined by their nature cognitive abilities and social interactions. Each individual is unique shaped by their thoughts feelings and experiences. The purpose of human life is “not merely to exist but to leave a positive impact in the world”. The greatest duty of a human is to treat others with justice and love. Human responsibilities are very important and they are not only related to oneself but also to rest human and our society. Every human has the duty to care for others help other in need and treat everyone equally. As human beings we should do those things in our society that do not cause others any trouble. Allah has given humans intelligence and we should use it in the right way. The use of intelligence is not just limited to gaining knowledge or thinking but we should also use it to improve our lives. Every problem has a solution we just need to seek that solution. As human beings we have certain responsibilities to reduce the bid’ah (innovations) that occur in weddings nowadays such as awareness. We should make people aware of this bid’ah so they can understand how they complicate their lives. We should also strive to conduct weddings in a simple and easy manner so that others can be inspired by this approach. We need to explain to those around us how important it is to abandon this bid’ahs so that our new generation can lead a better and more prosperous life. When we do not follow these customs ourselves we can become a positive example for others. Through all these efforts we can successfully reduce bid’ah and make weddings simpler. The trend of spending excessively on weddings is not just a social issue it creates additional difficulties for those who cannot afford it. When weddings are made so extravagant it not only affects those who can bear the costs but also puts pressure on those who cannot. If we want to change this trend we need to foster an understanding that true joy of a wedding is not in the display of wealth. A wedding is an opportunity to celebrate love and embark on a new journey together which can be done in a simple and joyful manner. If we all start thinking this way we can shift the perspective of weddings as a social bond. If we take the example of our Kashmir many girls are unmarried because of these so called traditions. We are responsible for all of this we are the ones who are perpetuating these traditions ourselves. These innovations have become quite prevalent in today’s weddings. If we don’t address this issue now it may never be resolved. We need to come together to put an end to this practice and make nikah easy for everyone. To achieve this we should start with our friends and family helping them understand that weddings are not just about expenses but about coming together and being happy. If we all practice we can move towards a society where everyone can celebrate their weddings joyfully without any financial pressure. Members of society have collective responsibility to stop this menace. Recently in North Kashmir some village mohalla communities have established a rule that no wedding should cost more than two lakh. This rule is a good initiative. In every society senior citizens and youths should come to the frontline and communicate with people to curb these extravagant expenses and bid’ah. Additionally parents who give their children gifts according to their income are not wrong; it becomes an asset for the child that can benefit them in the future. We need to stop practices like cash on tramies, excessive varieties of wazwan, new innovations and excessive show-off. These are all things we should avoid to secure our future. As a member of this society I request everyone to come together and stop this bid’ah. Please think about the poor father who cannot afford expenses of bid’ah. If we try to stop this bid’ah, such initiatives can make society better and more prosperous. State as an agency can utilize its machinery such as the legislature and judiciary to curb the evil practices associated with marriage. The state has the authority and power to create laws and rules to protect our society from this bid’ah. It is essential for the government to establish regulations that can limit extravagant expenses and bid’ah in weddings. If the government takes this issue seriously and enacts effective laws it will not only make weddings more affordable but also bring about a positive change in society. This way we can all work together towards a better and more prosperous society. Moreover we must make a concerted effort ourselves to protect ourselves from the disease of this bid’ah.
WE NEED TO WORK TOGETHER TO STOP THIS BID’AH …
