Opinion | Maryam Jameelah (RA) – From darkness to light!

Maryam Jameelah (1934- 2012) is one of the prominent & blessed ladies who said bid adieu to the religion of Christianity & embraced Islam, the religion of peace which guarantees complete code of life. She migrated from New York to Pakistan in order to get off scot free from the western culture & to keep her faith (imaan)pellucid. At the outset of migration from her native country to Pakistan she critically analysed the western ideology and highlighted all the issues pertaining to muslim community that are being targeted at global level to make people confused. Maryam Jameela, represented Islam and set the Thames on fire. She wrote about all the burning issues which have made the life of western people estranged. She had lived & observed personally through her naked eyes about the worsening situation of her native place which later resulted in studying Islam& eventually she left the advanced city of New york where the development and technology were at its peak but Maryam was searching something else which could make her life mentally candid and spiritually enviable. After embracing the religion of Islam, she started practising all the teachings of Islam in letter & spirit & devoted her whole life for the promotion, propagation and presentation of Islam till her last breath.

Before embracing Islam Maryam was named Margratkoras & was born on 23 May 1934 in Newyork USA. She was brought up in the most advanced city known as New Rochhalle. Her father’s name was Herbert mar korassidni who was from Germany actually and his grandparents had migrated in order to get economically strong so they started staying in Newyork during 1848-1861only for their financial stability. The ancestors of Herbert despite belonging from the Jewish offsprings were non-observant.Herbert was a person with moral values & good character. Margret was very intelligent and a genius from her early childhood and used to study different books thoroughly. She used to listen to Arabic music at her early age and always scored high marks in the subject of music during her schoolingperiod.Music was initially an important part of life for Margret and a sigh of relief but after some years she out rightly rejected music, cinema and dancing etc. once for all. After attaining the age of 10 she started studying about the teachings of different religions & got very much impressed to see the cooperation betweenJewish students & Arabian students who were studying in a same school run by Jewish machinery.
Maryam Jameelahwas one of the prominent writer, jurist, scholar, orator, Social activist and Dayah, who migrated from her native birth place for a noble cause. She has never compromised in definingIslam as a complete code of life analyse critically the opponent ideologies out & out.Maryam’s perpetual contribution to the Muslim world is noteworthy because she worked at three important fronts at the same time to propagate the massage of Islam viz, propagation of Islam through literature, presentation of Islam through practical life & introduced Islamic movement in a systematic order.Maryam Jameela was highly impressed from a renowned scholar and juristSyed Abul Ala Maududi RA’s ideology hence ,followed the same ideology during her life . In this most advanced age, some new terms have been introduced for women who only degrade the prestige of women rather than to add any kind of respect. Feminism is aun natural, artificial and abnormal product of contemporary disintegration, which in turn is the inevitable result of the rejection of all transcendental, absolute moral and spiritual values.
