My Success Story of NEP-2020 as a Teacher

During the year 2021, one of the major achievements here at Government Girls Middle School Boniyar was implementing NEP 2020 by opening a kindergarten having Pre-School 1, Pre-School 2, and Balvatika classes. This step was taken so that ECCE may stand at par with NEP 2020, focusing on activities leading towards holistic development.
The Journey Begins 2021
Being a dedicated Teacher, I, Mukhtar Ahmad Qureshi, accompanied My fellow Teacher and My best friend Muslim Bin Akil on a transforming journey. We participated in 10 days of training on ECCE and activity-based learning at DIET Sopore. This training has aligned Us with the fundamental principles of NEP 2020, to be implemented ion ur school.
This is the beginning of a new era, for soon after the inception of the kindergarten, a Well-Structured curriculum for Pre-School 1, Pre-School 2, and Balvatika was introduced. It created a living precedent for excellence and innovation in early childhood education at Government Girls Middle School Boniyar.
An ICT lab in Government Girls Middle School Boniyar was sanctioned in the year 2021, based on the aim to implement an education policy based on NEP-2020. The plan for the school is to incorporate digital tools and resources in the educational framework for better experiences of the students in learning.
Since then, regular classes have started in the school, where these new digital aids are being used with the purpose of enhancing digital literacy among students and empowering them with the skills needed in today’s world. The interactive lessons, bases on Hands-On activities, allow students to acquire skills in handling computers and different software. It has brought a remarkable rise in their confidence and interest in learning.
The ICT lab has also become part of the curriculum in the school. This indeed is bridging the digital divide and is leaving the children better prepared for any future academic and Career-Related challenge. This not only improved the quality of education available in Government Girls Middle School Boniyar but has also set an example for other schools in this area.
Scaling New Heights 2022.
Building on the success of our initial efforts, we launched model classes of kindergarten in 2022. This strategic move had a purpose to show the efficacy of pedagogical approaches under NEP 2020 and attract more students to benefit from a reformed education system. All our hard work paid off as enrollment in kindergarten surged to 42 students. Children were admitted from Ahtishampora, Rampore, Uranbouha, Mohura, Batangi, and Boniyar areas, an indication of increased trust and recognition of Our effort.
We scheduled every Saturday for the activities and dedicated it to the same, in order to undertake a complete learning process. Activity-Based sessions brought out creativity, critical thinking, and social skills among the students to a great extent and gave them a strong base for further studies and personal development.
Coming to New Heights 2022
Expanding Horizons: Training at Bhartiya Vidyapeeth University, Pune
Recently, I happened to participate in the training conducted by Bhartiya Vidyapeeth University, Pune, at SP Higher Secondary School Srinagar. This training program provides advanced insights into educational methodologies and practices and further enhances my skills and knowledge. It was an enriching experience that helped broaden my perspective with the novel approaches which I can apply in my teaching job.
Share knowledge through writing.
Apart from my On-Ground efforts, I have been an avid writer and contributed to propagating principles of NEP 2020 through writing. I have written numerous articles on NEP 2020, FLN, and NIPUN Bharat that are circulated by newspapers. The articles bring awareness, share best practices, and convey how NEP 2020 has the transformative potential to reshape the education landscape.
Impact and Reflections
Implementation of NEP 2020 in Government Girls Middle School Boniyar has a deep impact upon the pupils as well as the educators. Opening a kindergarten and activity based learning at initial stage have helped to provide a safe, inspiring environment and joyful learning experiences for the tiny learners. The increased enrollment is the proof of community’s faith in Our endeavours and credibility built.
These training programs and interventions have empowered the teachers with modern pedagogical skills and instilled a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Equipped with this, I have been in a position, as a District Level Resource Person, to extend this impact beyond our school to the district level in contributing toward the professional development of educators.
Future Expectations
We remain focused upon sustaining and improving the quality of education while We move ahead in our journey of excellence under NEP 2020.
1. ECCE Programs: Our early childhood education will be further strengthened through innovative methods and resources implemented by the Teachers.
2. Teacher Training: Training programs for teachers to equip them with the latest educational practices shall be continued as a regular feature.
3. Community Engagement: Engage more positively with the community to develop an enabling environment for the holistic development of students.
4. Digital Integration: Develop an educational pedagogy that incorporates technology, enriching both learning and teaching, and preparing them effectively for life in a digital world.
5. Continuous Improvement: Building on practices through periodic assessment and refinement to meet the goals and objectives set by NEP 2020.
The journey of implementation of NEP 2020 in Government Girls Middle School Boniyar has been full of activity and challenge but rewarding. We have been in a position to be dedicated, collaborative, and passionate about excellence in making huge transformational changes in the education system. Therefore, our success story becomes of the power of innovative policies and the collective efforts of educators, students, and the community. As we move ahead, we stand founded on the ideals of our mission toward providing quality education and creating a better future for our students.
My success story with NEP 2020 does not reflect merely My personal success; rather, it mirrors collective progress and potential realized in Our Education System. In other words, if We adhere to the salient features present in NEP 2020, System We will be in a position to chart a more inclusive, fair, and qualitative pursuit of education for every student at all levels.
