Despite the remarkable progress made in recent years, the youth of Kashmir continue to face a number of challenges that hinder their growth and potential. These challenges are rooted in both internal and external factors, and addressing them requires a multi-faceted approach involving the government, private sector, and civil society. One of the key challenges faced by the youth in Kashmir is the limited availability of job opportunities. Kashmir has witnessed significant economic growth, the demand for jobs still outstrips the supply. This imbalance creates a sense of frustration and disillusionment among the youth, who often find themselves underemployed or forced to seek opportunities outside Kashmir Another challenge is the lack of access to capital and resources for aspiring entrepreneurs. While the government has taken steps to provide financial assistance and support to startups, there is a need for more robust mechanisms to ensure that young entrepreneurs have access to the funding and resources necessary to start and grow their ventures. This includes creating a network of angel investors, venture capitalists, and mentorship programs that can guide and support young entrepreneurs throughout their journey. Furthermore, there is a need to bridge the gap between the skills acquired through education and the requirements of the job market. While the government has introduced skill development programs, there is a need for continuous assessment and alignment of the curriculum with the evolving needs of the industry. This will ensure that the youth are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the competitive job market. Despite these challenges, the youth of Kashmir continue to persevere and strive for a better future. The next section will explore the future prospects and potential for growth in the area, and the role of the youth in shaping Kashmir’s destiny.
