It is said that a Nation’s worth lies not in the value of its currency but in the character of its youth. Since youth is the stepstone to success, progress and peace of a nation, yet needs to be garnered very carefully. Youthful nations are like nutritious and healthy food that fuels the functioning of the body. Nowadays we see youth excelling their mettle in every field be that aeronautics, astronomy, science, technology, medicine, health, journalism, research, education, entrepreneurship, writing, digital avenues, social work.
There is an African quote saying, “show me the heroes that the youth of your country look up-to and I will tell you the future of your country”. Therefore, it is clear that the youth of a country dominate and determine the peace and progress of that country.
Earlier, youth had young business minded people of certain chosen fields like health, education and engineering etc. to excel in and these fields were widely famous among the society, hence parents had an intrigue to get their children settled in the said fields and earn a handsome livelihood. In contrast to present times and choice, young brains explore varied fields to wisely choose one for them, evaluating their own potentiality for that and then explain and educate the scope of the certain field to their parents as well, with respect to contemporary times. Hence, the time has changed and it has proved that time changes the choices as well.
Nowadays, we see youth vibrating energy and hope in the society of Kashmir. However, youth were and are the easy target to destroy a nation and wreak havoc in the ideology and psychology of a nation. Our youth being sentimental and humanitarian has been manipulated and exploited to every edge in the past by the vested, self-centered and anti- peace agencies of their innocence and love for their people. Nevertheless, our brilliant and youthful youth has been bouncing it back with all the fervor. They have been trying to polish their talents in every field. We see young boys and girls outshining the all-India NEET exams with flying colors, civil service exams, GATE, science and technology, writing, politics, activism etc. Entrepreneurship has been a platform to prove the innovativeness, uniqueness, zeal and ability of our young business minded men and women to sustain their development and help others with the same as well. Hence, our young brains have been consistent to keep the fertility of their minds and talents intact and generate economy for them and the nation they belong to. Abhijit Naskar has rightly said that “blessed is the nation whose gospel is goodness and religion is service”
The biggest attribute the youth of Kashmir has set to aspire for before the young people across the globe is self-less social service. Young boys and girls are spending their pocket money to help distressed people. People of Kashmir are generously aspiring to be inclined to voluntary social work where they have no expectation of any compensation in lieu of their job. They do it happily. In the era of greed and selfishness youth of Kashmir has taken the world to surprise by building houses for the homeless, by reaching to the hungry people, rescuing children from poverty and facilitating their education, by provide medicine to the needy, wheelchair to the specially-abled to help him parry the trouble, by donating blood to the needy or getting a poor person treated of a fatal disease etc. This proves how a youth can use its power to bring a desired change in the society that a society demands of.
On one hand where our youth are dragged into evils and abuses to destroy the rich social, moral and cultural fabric of our generous society which our ancestors have been maintaining with letter and spirit. On the other hand, our unemployed youth has driven thousands of young boys and girls to occupy a large number of masses in the humanitarian services without the support of any GOD FATHERS or sponsors or funded schemes. As a nation we will only become the shining light to the world with the emergence of more and more role models worthy of emulation by all which our youth has been brilliant while doing. I hope we are aspire to inspire to glitter on top of the humanity and peace making and it will surely be fulfilled as youth holds this power to bring the change because youth is considered a power bank of a nation for a reason
