Police arrested drug peddler in Handwara; Contraband substance recovered

Handwara : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested drug peddler in Handwara and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A Police party of Police Station Kralgund headed by SHO PS Kralgund established a Naka at Resripora Kralgund and intercepted one person identified as Danish Ahmad Mir son of Gh Hassan Mir resident of Kralgund. During search, 110 grams of contraband Charas-like substances has been recovered from his possession. Accordingly he has been arrested and shifted to police station for further investigation. To this effect a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police station Kralgund and investigation initiated.

We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere in society, feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112 for prompt police action. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drug from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law and up-route the slur from the society.
