Kupwara : Kupwara Police under the supervision of SSP Kupwara, Youghal Manhas, inaugurated “Police Martyrs Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament” at the historical playground Sogam.
The Cricket tournament is being organized in the loving memory of J&K Police martyrs who had laid down their lives to uphold the integrity and sovereignty of the Nation.
The Cricket Tournament will be played on a knock out basis.
In the said tournament, sixteen cricket teams of boys are going to participate.
The inaugural match was played between Lolab Warriors and Police 11.
SDM Lolab Ajaz Ahmad Bhat attended as chief guest and DDC Sogam Nasir Lone as a guest of honour. On the occasion DSP Lolab Sarfaraz, SHO Sogam Mudasir Ahmad, SHO Lalpora Naseer Ahmad, BMO Sogam Dr. Fareed and other senior officers of Police, Army, CRPF, Civil Administration and other dignitaries were present.
SDM Lolab and DDC Sogam in their message urged upon the participating teams to play their matches with a high spirit of professionalism. Such sports activities being organized by J&K Police provides a better platform for the sports persons to explore their talents and channelize their energy in the right directions.
