The valedictory function of Police Premier T20 Cricket Tournament was held at Galizo Ground Kupwara .The said Cricket Tournament was started by Kupwara Police under the aegis of Civic Action Programme (CAP) and to provide a platform to the talented youth and channelize their energy in right way.
SSP Kupwara Yougal Manhas-JKPS was the chief guest on the the closing ceremony of Police Premier T-20 Cricket Tournament, besides ASP Kupwara, DySP PC Kupwara/Sogam, and DySP DAR DPL Kupwara and huge gathering of spectators including members of civil society were also present on the occasion.
The tournament was played on knockout basis in which 16 teams from different parts of Dist. Kupwara participated. The final match of the tournament was played between Friends 11 Lolab Vs DPL Kupwara in which Friends Eleven won the final match by 21 runs. Gowhar Ahmad was declared Man of the Match and Tahir Mohuidin was declared as man of the tournament for their brilliant performances with both bat and ball.
SSP Kupwara while interacting with the teams said that youth has power for a change and they should use their energy in positive activities so that they won’t get involved in menace of drugs which has a direct bearing not only on their lives and family but society as well. He also appreciated the efforts of Officers,Officials of Kupwara Police and whole organizing team for making this Cricket League possible in a best manner.
Later on SSP Kupwara distributed Cash prizes, Medals, trophies, momentous among participants. A cash prize of Rs 40000 was given to winning team & 25000/- to runner up team Rs 3000 to man of the tournament, Rs 2000 to man of the match.
