Kupwara : The esteemed members of the Growth Sports Academy (GSA) J&K, representing various sports disciplines including Pencak Silat, Rugby, Chess, Icestock, Cricket, & Kickboxing gathered today to extend a warm welcome to the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner, Ms. Ayushi Sudan. Making history as the first lady DC in Kupwara, Ms. Sudan received an enthusiastic reception from the talented athletes.

Led by the accomplished International Pencak Silat Medalist, Aadil Manzoor Peer, who also serves as the Chairman of GSA J&K, the team showcased their dedication and commitment to promoting sports in the region. Accompanying Peer were renowned national athletes of different games, including Zubair Ahmad Sofi and Pakeeza Sakhi from Rugby, Navaid Nabi from Icestock, Mohd Ibrahim Bhat, Zakir Hussain, and Munazirah Mushtaq from Pencak Silat, Touseef Ahmad, Sadia Akhter, and Aiman Bashir from the GSA Women’s Cricket Team, and Aamir Rasool from Karate.

During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Ayushi Sudan assured the team members of her full support in their athletic pursuits. She emphasized the importance of unity in combating the drug menace and expressed her desire for collaborative efforts from all stakeholders. Ms. Sudan acknowledged the significant role sports play in promoting a healthy and prosperous society, and she encouraged the athletes to continue their hard work and inspire others in the community.

The Growth Sports Academy J&K has long been recognized for nurturing and developing sporting talent in Kupwara. With an exceptional roster of athletes, the academy aims to excel in national and international competitions while promoting a culture of sportsmanship and discipline.

As the team members bid farewell to the Deputy Commissioner, they expressed their gratitude for her warm welcome and pledged to contribute their best efforts in sports and social initiatives. The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of enthusiasm and determination among the athletes, who are now poised to achieve greater heights in their respective fields.
