Srinagar : S.J.M Gillani-IPS Addl. DGP Armed J&K on Thursday felicitated the members of J&K Police Water Sports team who bagged Bronze medal in Open National Canoe Sprint Senior Men & Women Championship-2023 recently held at Tehri Lake, Tehri Garhwal (Uttarakhand) w.e.f 14th to 17th September, 2023.
A total of 32 teams from all across the country participated in the said Championship. 09 members’ contingent from J&K (UT) sponsored by J&K Water Sports Kayaking & Canoeing Association comprised of 04 players of J&K Police Water Sports team and its coach SgCt Showkat Ahmad participated in the event under the overall supervision of Kuldeep Handoo-DySP (Sports) APHQ & Ram Singh-Inspr. (I/c J&K Police Mountain Rescue Team) in the Championship. In the C-4 (200 mtrs) event, Ct. Showkat Hussain, SPO Moisar Ahmad, SPO Aquib Hussain & SPO Idrees Hussain won Bronze Medal.
ADGP Armed J&K S.J.M.Gilani-IPS during a felicitation ceremony held at APHQ J&K Srinagar congratulated the medal winners of J&K Police Water Sports team and wished them best of luck for future endeavours.
The felicitation ceremony was attended by Mahmood Ahmed-SSP Staff Officer to ADGP Armed J&K, Syed Sajad Hussain Pvt. Secretary to ADGP Armed J&K, Ab. Hamid Dy.SP (Personnel) APHQ, Kuldeep Handoo DySP (Sports) APHQ, besides the coach and members of J&K Police Water Sports team.
