ANANTNAG : An online coordination and orientation conference on Disaster Management was held with all stakeholders involved in the upcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra (SANJY) 2025.
The session was chaired by Major General Sudhir Bahl (Retd.), Lead Consultant for Medical Emergencies (ME), Incident Response System (IRS), and Mock Exercises, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
The primary objective of the conference was to ensure effective coordination among all agencies responsible for managing potential hazards and emergency situations during the Yatra.
Major General Bahl delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the structure of the proposed mock exercise, as well as the roles and responsibilities of the deployed teams in response to various emergency scenarios. He emphasized the need for all stakeholders to remain fully prepared and vigilant to mitigate any eventuality.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anantnag, Sandeep Singh Bali, assured that the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) is well-prepared to handle any disaster like situation. He also noted that comprehensive training has been imparted to various stakeholders.
Notably, further mock exercises are scheduled to be conducted on June 28 at various locations to enhance the preparedness of all involved agencies.
