Srinagar : A joint team of security forces detained an individual with arms, ammunition and other incriminating material in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday.
An official said that upon receipt of specific input from SOG, a joint team of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police, launched a search operation at Nagri area. “The operation yielded the detention of a suspected individual from Kunan Poshpora area of the district,” the official said.
“The individual who revealed his identity as one Aijaz Ahmad Parry, son of Ghulam Ahmad Parry, after put to sustained questioning, divulged of being in possession of a pistol with a magazine and four rounds of 9mm ammunition, a hand grenade and other incriminating material,” said the official.
“The arms and ammunition was recovered from the person and he was subsequently taken into custody for necessary investigation and action thereof,” added the official.
