Kupwara : Chief Medical Officer Kupwara Dr Ramzan and Medical Superintendent Sub-district Kupwara Dr Shafeeq on Saturday were all in praise for the doctors over successful surgery of an eight-year-old throat-slit child at the health facility on Friday.
The CMO besides Medical Superintendent SDH Kupwara unequivocally praising the medical staff at SDH Kupwara said that the challenging surgery merits to be acknowledged as a big and significant achievement of its type.
Acknowledging the efforts of the doctors, the medical officers said that the team’s dedication and skill in delivering high-quality care under difficult circumstances, not only reflects their excellence in medical practice but also sets a benchmark for future healthcare facilities in the region.
Highlighting the significance of the achievement, CMO Kupwara, in particular, said that such intricate cases are rare and require exceptional skill. “This is a tremendous milestone for us as our dedicated medical team handled a challenging situation that many might have deemed impossible,” he said.
He also expressed concern over the negative portrayal of SDH Kupwara in media, saying that the SDH Kupwara has done miraculous things in the past as well but seldom did anyone highlight those things. “We appreciate this positive reporting of the surgery by Jahangir Lolabi.”
Explaining further, Dr Shafeeq said that positive contributions and achievements often go unnoticed. “Whenever any untoward thing happens, it is blown out of proportion.”
Meanwhile, the family members of the child expressed their deep gratitude to the medical team for their efforts, calling it a miraculous outcome.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the CMO Kupwara, the Medical Superintendent, and the dedicated medical staff for their incredible efforts in saving the child from a seemingly impossible situation.

Notably, the team of doctors was led by Dr Rayees Ahmed Consultant, alongside his DNB PG Dr Ramakrishna and Surgical Assistant Syed Tariq, Anaesthetist Dr Jahangir, his DNB PG Dr Tayab and Anaesthesia technician G R Bhat.
