Sopore Police arrested timber smugglers and seized 107 feets illicit timber

Acting on a tip-off about the timber smuggling a Police party of Police Station Panzla headed by SHO Panzla Insp. Parveen Kumar, raided a specific place and recovered 107 feets illicit timber from the permisis of 1. Abdul Aziz Sheikh S/O Ghulam Ahmad 2. Ghulam Mohiudin S/O Muhammad Abdullah 3. Shabir Ahmad Sheikh 4. Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh Sons of Muhammad Yaseen Sheikh and 5. Khazir Muhammad Sheikh S/O Ghulam Ahmad Sheikh Residents of Takiya Panzla Rafiabad.

Accused involved in the commission of crime were arrested and case FIR No. 61/2022, U/S 379 IPC, 26 Forest Act has been registered at PS Panzla and further investigation into the matter is going on.

Sopore Police vows to continue its strict action against Timber Smugglers, so that Green Gold can be saved for the future generations.

People of the area hailed such action and re-affirmed faith on Police.
