Srinagar-Leh highway closed as cloudburst triggers mudslides in Ganderbal

Ganderbal : Srinagar-Leh highway was closed on Sunday after mudslides, triggered by cloudburst, near Cherwan Padabal area in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, officials said.

An official told news agency that a cloudburst occurred near Cherwan Padabal area, triggering mudslides.

He said that due to mudslides, Srinagar-Leh highway was blocked following which traffic has been suspended on the road.

The official said that rescue teams have reached to the spot and efforts are on to restore the highway—(KNO)
