SSP Traffic rural acts tough against traffic violators

Srinagar : SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir Ravinder Paul Singh (JKPS) accompanied by the DySP Traffic Baramulla/Kupwara Mujahid Nazir conducted a special drive against violators in the Sectors of Baramulla and Kupwara.
Number of violators were booked on spot under the provisions of Motor Vehicle Act. The SSP especially advised the youth to ensure wearing of crash helmet while driving their bikes / two wheelers and avoid triple riding for their better safety and security.
The vehicle operators were briefed to ply their respective vehicles within the prescribed speed limit and avoid overloading, rash and negligent/stunt driving on road, so that the precious human lives could be saved. All Sector officers / officials of sector Baramulla were briefed on spot regarding regulation of traffic, adopt safety methods which are meant for reducing the risk of accidents and injuries or causalities on the road, if everyone follows simple safety measures and traffic rules, there will be no accident, make public aware of all types of road safety measures, further various reasons of road accidents were discussed that needs immediate redressal and stringent action on ground level to save precious life, such as under age drivers, Inexperience drivers. Over speeding ( Dangerous driving), over loading of passengers or material, Rash Driving, overtaking at turns /curves or cross roads, Drunken driving, Not wearing protective gears/ gadgets like, Seat belts, triple ride, not wearing Crash helmets, not adhering road signals, wrong parking on roads making other drivers difficult to drive etc. Use of mobile phones while driving, adequate sleep, pedestrian not crossing the road carefully, Road rage (speed freaks on motorbikes or Cars), 100% E-challaning, and stress was laid on maintenance of discipline among the ranks, humane behaviour while dealing with general public, or better performance to achieve the ultimate goal of “Service to Nation”.
Other reasons of road accidents that are involved in the area were discussed and assured concerned departments will be appraised to take appropriate actions to eradicate such problems so that general public may not suffer or their problems may be lessened. The issues that needs immediate rectifies will be taken up with the higher authorities, such as; Black spots, Road defects Dangerous / unnecessary / Speed breakers, potholes, road digging by other departments (water works, electric, etc, Notifying all areas of landslides / avalanches ,Lack of Bus stops in Baramulla and Kupwara Lack of Zebra crossing ( Pedestrian crossing) and side walk in Baramulla and Kupwara town. Eliminators, Side reflectors, Crash barriers, Safety concrete blocks,lack of lighting system / High lights / poor lighting on the roads and highways Parking.
