Suspicious Box Turns Out To Be Containing Firecrackers In Mendhar, FIR Registered For Mischief: Police

Jammu : Police lodged an FIR against mischevious persons after someone had put firecrackers inside a suspicious box in Chajja area of Poonch district on Friday.

In a handout to, the police said that it along with security forces in Mendhar, Poonch, were alerted today after a suspicious box was spotted in the Chajja area.
During examination of box by Poonch police it emerged that the box was found to contain firecrackers.

Police spokesman further stated that however, an FIR No 223/2024 of PS Mendhar has been registered under the relevant sections of the law for acts of mischief.

Investigation is underway to identify the culprit who tried to create panic in the area.

All efforts are being made to unearth this mischievous act and anti social elements behind this act.

The police also urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or objects to the nearest authorities. The safety and security of the community remain the top priority of police and other security agencies, reads the statement.(GNS)
