‘Teachers Day’ celebrations held across Kulgam

DC presides over function at GHSS Kulgam; Teachers felicitated, honoured

KULGAM : ‘Teachers Day’ was on Tuesday celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm at Kulgam, during which colourful functions were organised in all educational institutions in the district.

On the occasion, a mega function was held at LNK Nazir Ahmad Wani Model Higher Secondary School (GBHSS) Chawalgam to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, President of India.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat was the chief guest on the occasion. The function was also attended by ACR, CEO, teachers and students in large.

During the function, teachers were honored and felicitated for their extraordinary contribution in enriching the field of education.

Addressing the gathering, the DC highlighted the historical background of the day and extended greetings to the teachers and said that Teachers are the true nation builders and the day provides an opportunity to thank them and recognize their contribution.

He also highlighted measures and steps taken to augment the facilities in educational institutions across the district.

On the occasion other speakers also expressed their views about the role of teachers in their lives.

Meanwhile, Teachers Day celebrations were also held in schools, colleges and other educational institutions across the district.
