Terror Associate Along With Incriminating Material Held In Doda

Jammu : Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a terror associate in Bhaderwah area of Doda district.

In a handout the police said that in a significant breakthrough, Doda Police arrested a hardcore terror associate, Firdous Ahmed Wani, son of Mohd Yousaf Wani, resident of Mangota Marmat, presently residing in Dandi Bhaderwah, based on credible intelligence.

SSP Doda, revealed that the accused was in constant contact with terrorist handlers across the border through various social media platforms. He was actively working to revive militancy in the area by establishing a foothold for anti-national elements in Doda.

A thorough search of the suspect and his residence led to the recovery of incriminating materials and documents, which have been seized for further investigation, he said.

Consequently, a case under FIR No. 173/2024 under sections 147, 148, 150, and 152 of the BNS Act has been registered at Police Station Bhaderwah, he said.

The accused was reportedly conspiring to execute subversive activities in and around Doda, in collaboration with active terrorists and handlers operating from Pakistan/PoK. This operation reflects the unwavering commitment of Doda Police to thwart any attempts to disrupt the region’s peace and harmony, reads the statement.
