Srinagar, Nov 20 : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested three timber smugglers in Budgam and seized illicit timber being carried on three horses.
A police spokesman in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), police party of Police Post Pakherpora during naka checking at Balkhi Mohallah Pakherpora intercepted three persons carrying illicit timber swans laden on horses.
They have been identified as Showkat Ahmed Awaan son of Mohd Shafi Awaan, Ghulam Mohi-u-din Parray son of Abdul Ahad Parray both residents of Chawan Keller and Shabeer Ahamd Tedwa son of Mohd Yaqoob Tedwa resident of Sangerwani. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody. Three horses used in the commission of crime have also been seized, police said.
Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 118/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Charar-i-Sharief and investigation has been taken up—(KNO)
