TLSC Ganderbal celebrates ‘National Girl Child Day’

GANDERBAL : Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Ganderbal in coordination with Integrated Child Development Services Department (ICDS), Ganderbal and District Health Department, Ganderbal celebrated ‘National Girl Child Day’ at Meeting Hall CDPO, Poshan Project, Ganderbal.

The programme was held under the guidance of Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary District legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal and under the chairmanship of Mohammad Waseem Mirza, Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Ganderbal.

On the occasion, Advocate Burjeena Hamid and Advocate Shaheena Ali highlighted the importance of National Girl Child Day.

Many topics were discussed during the program regarding Right to Education, Child marriage, Child Labour, Low Literacy rate among women, Freedom of women, Violence against women (Domestic Violence as well as other societal abuses), Discrimination against women, Mental and Emotional Harassment among women.

The Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Ganderbal also organized a Medical Camp on the eve of National Girl Child day at the venue in order to provide information on menstrual hygiene and importance of health and nutrition in girls.

The program was attended by Medical Officers, Supervisor (ICDS, Ganderbal), Staff of Medical Health Department Ganderbal, ICDS Ganderbal, TLSC Ganderbal, PLVs of TLSC Ganderbal and Anganwadi Workers, etc.
