Srinagar : In a proactive move aimed at enhancing road safety, a massive drive was conducted on wednesday at Narbal Baramulla Road, under the vigilant supervision of SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravinder Pal Singh.
The operation, carried out in collaboration with DTI Baramulla, SO Narbal, and SO Patten, targeted various traffic violations, resulting in the booking of numerous offenders.
The violations encompassed a range of infractions, including overloading, overspeeding, failure to wear helmets, neglecting seatbelt usage, and lacking valid documentation.
On-the-spot counseling and awareness sessions were conducted for both drivers and commuters, emphasizing the importance of adhering to traffic rules.
SSP Ravinder Pal Singh reiterated the mission’s focus on minimizing road accidents and fatalities. A zero-tolerance approach was declared towards all forms of overloading, be it goods or passengers.
The authorities strongly advised parents against permitting teenagers without a valid driving license to operate both two-wheelers and four-wheelers.
Parents were cautioned that they would be held liable for penalties under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act if found in violation of this directive.
This strategic enforcement initiative aims not only to penalize offenders but also to raise awareness and foster a culture of responsible driving, contributing to the overarching goal of creating safer roads in the region.
