Training for IEC campaign against Drugs held at Bandipora

BANDIPORA: District Administration Bandipora on Monday organized an introductory-cum-training session for resource persons nominated for the IEC campaign against drugs at the Mini Secretariat, Bandipora.
The training session presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, discussed effective measures to combat drug abuse.
Addressing the participants, DC emphasized the importance of a coordinated, multi-departmental efforts to implement the IEC campaign at the grassroots level.
He highlighted that the campaign aims to target victims of drug abuse and vulnerable age groups, urging resource persons to execute the campaign in mission mode at the Panchayat level.
Qadri also outlined the measures taken by the government and law enforcement agencies to curb drug abuse and stressed the need for direct engagement with vulnerable sections of society to achieve the campaign’s objectives.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl, highlighted the significance of the IEC initiative and advised resource persons to remain proactive in its execution.
Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Nodal Officer for the IEC Campaign, Irfan Bahadur, emphasized the need for proper training and knowledge among resource persons for effective implementation. He called for sincerity, dedication, and commitment from all stakeholders to transform the campaign into a successful public movement against drug abuse.
Medical Officer Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF) Bandipora, discussed measures for handling drug abuse victims, available rehabilitation facilities and moral responsibility of stakeholders in addressing drug menace while as counselor ATF, highlighted the changing patterns of substance abuse.
Among others, the programme was attended by resource persons from various departments and other concerned stakeholders.
