The residents told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that despite living in the municipality area, they are facing unscheduled power cuts and are facing shortage of drinking water as well.

They added that they are hardly getting water supply for just 15 minutes, thus leaving them to lurch at large, adding that a new water supply scheme has been constructed in the area but due to unknown reasons it hasn’t been made functional yet.

The residents added that pesky power cuts are also forcing them to reel under darkness. “Despite paying power tariff at par with the residents of areas falling under the municipality limits, the residents here are not being supplied adequate electricity. One fails to understand the reason behind the worst kind of unscheduled power cuts,” they said.

We have brought these issues into the notice of higher ups several times but their repeated promises have proved a hoax on ground, they said.

They urged the higher ups to look into the matter at an earliest so that locals could heave sigh of relief—(KNO)
